That is, this is the most primitive form of a verb in Japanese.<\/p>\n<h2>The informal way of verbs in Japanese<\/h2>\n<p>Because it is the simplest form of a verb, Japanese dictionaries have adopted it as the standard form in their search indexes. Because of this fact, the simple form of Japanese verbs has come to be known as the dictionary form.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Hover over Japanese symbols to see their pronunciation and meaning<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In terms of formality, the simple form of a Japanese verb is found at the informal level. Therefore, verbs with this conjugation should only be used when talking to friends and family. On more formal occasions such as parties and business meetings, it is more convenient to use the form\u00a0<acronym title=\"but u\">\u307e\u3059<\/acronym>\u00a0of Japanese verbs.<\/p>\n<p>Another interesting curiosity about the dictionary form, or simple form of verbs, is that it is the most common form used in Japanese anime and manga.<\/p>\n<h2>Conjugating Japanese Verbs<\/h2>\n<p>The conjugation of verbs in the simple form is not as complicated as many come to think. In fact, it even reminds me of the conjugation of adjectives in Japanese, but with some slight differences.<\/p>\n<h3>The present tense of verbs in Japanese<\/h3>\n<p>This is the default time used by Japanese dictionaries. Therefore, each group will have its own rules and forms of conjugation.<\/p>\n<h4>Group of verbs ending in\u00a0<acronym title=\"u\">\u3046<\/acronym><\/h4>\n<p>1. The best way is to consult a dictionary or a <a href=\"https:\/\/comoaprenderjapones.net\/en\/japanese-grammar\/\">grammar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"suru | do\">\u3059\u308b\u00a0<\/acronym>will come\u00a0<acronym title=\"shita | he did\">\u3057\u305f<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"kuru | come over\">\u6765\u308b\u00a0<\/acronym>will come\u00a0<acronym title=\"kita | he came\">\u6765\u305f<\/acronym><\/p>\n<h3>The negative present of Japanese verbs<\/h3>\n<p>This tense has a few rules, being easier to conjugate than previous tenses.<\/p>\n<h4>Group of verbs ending in\u00a0<acronym title=\"u\">\u3046<\/acronym><\/h4>\n<p>To summarize everything in a simple rule, just change the last syllable ending in \u201cu\u201d, by the syllable of the same hiragana family ending in \u201ca\u201d, adding the extension\u00a0<acronym title=\"no\">\u306a\u3044<\/acronym>. Note the examples below:<\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"hanasu | to speak\">\u8a71\u3059\u00a0<\/acronym>will come\u00a0<acronym title=\"hanasanai | do not talk\">\u8a71\u3055\u306a\u3044<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"kaku| write\">\u66f8\u304f\u00a0<\/acronym>will come\u00a0<acronym title=\"kakanai | not write\">\u66f8\u304b\u306a\u3044<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"kaeru | turn back\">\u5e30\u308b\u00a0<\/acronym>will come\u00a0<acronym title=\"kaeranai | do not return\">\u5e30\u3089\u306a\u3044<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p>In the case of verbs ending in\u00a0<acronym title=\"tsu\">\u3064<\/acronym>\u00a0and\u00a0<acronym title=\"u\">\u3046<\/acronym>, things change a bit. When the termination is\u00a0<acronym title=\"tsu\">\u3064<\/acronym>, we exchange the\u00a0<acronym title=\"tsu\">\u3064<\/acronym>\u00a0per\u00a0<acronym title=\"ok + no\">\u305f + \u306a\u3044<\/acronym>. The good news is that this tense has only one rule for all groups of verbs, except for irregular ones.<\/p>\n<p>To conjugate the past negative of Japanese verbs, just get the verb in the negative present and change the ending\u00a0<acronym title=\"i\">\u3044<\/acronym>\u00a0per\u00a0<acronym title=\"katta\">\u304b\u3063\u305f<\/acronym>.
