Being that this time, I will share a little of what I learned about the particle\u00a0<em>in<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>The Japanese DE particle \u2013 where an action takes place<\/h2>\n<p>I think one of the most common functions of the particle\u00a0<em>in\u00a0<\/em>is to indicate where an action is happening or has happened. It is usually used in conjunction with Japanese nouns, such as names of places, people, animals or objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"benkyousuru gakkou\"><\/acronym><acronym title=\"benkyousuru gakkou\">\u5b66\u6821<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u52c9\u5f37\u3059\u308b\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>Study\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">at<\/span>\u00a0school.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Watashi wa umi by oyogimashita\">\u79c1\u306f\u6d77<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u6cf3\u304e\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>I swam\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">at the<\/span>\u00a0sea.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Ano resutoran de tabemashou ka?\">\u3042\u306e\u30ec\u30b9\u30c8\u30e9\u30f3<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u98df\u3079\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u304b\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Ano resutoran de bentoo tabemashou ka?\"><\/acronym><em>Let&#039;s eat\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">at<\/span>what restaurant?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"kanojo wa honya by jisho wo kaimashita. \">\u5f7c\u5973\u306f\u672c\u5c4b<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u8f9e\u66f8\u3092\u8cb7\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>she bought a dictionary\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">at<\/span>\u00a0bookstore.<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Note that, again, a Japanese particle cannot be tied to a single translation. In the sentences above, the particle\u00a0<em>in\u00a0<\/em>can be translated as\u00a0<em>at the\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>at<\/em>. Furthermore, in the next topics, we will see that the particle\u00a0<em>in<\/em>\u00a0may assume other different translations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>The particle of \u2013 instrumentality and utensils<\/h2>\n<p>Under these conditions, the particle\u00a0<em>in\u00a0<\/em>is used as a complement to a given action, adding more information about how that action is performed. Given that\u00a0<em>this information<\/em>\u00a0it is the means by which the action happens, it became known as instrumentality.<\/p>\n<p>Generally instrumentality actions can take place to inform that a utensil or means of locomotion has been used. And there are still more different translations for the particle from around.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>The particle of \u2013 Indicating superlative<\/h2>\n<p>The most common cases of superlative with the particle\u00a0<em>in<\/em>, are the ones that let us know when someone, or something, is the best or worst in some role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Sekai by ichiban takai yama nan desu ka?\">\u4e16\u754c<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u4e00\u756a\u9ad8\u3044\u5c71\u4f55\u3067\u3059\u304b\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>What is the highest mountain\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">of<\/span>\u00a0world?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Kanojo wa gakkou by ichiban kirei desu ne.\">\u5f7c\u5973\u306f\u5b66\u6821<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u4e00\u756a\u304d\u308c\u3044\u3067\u3059\u306d\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>She is the most beautiful girl\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">gives<\/span>\u00a0school is not.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>The particle of \u2013 Indicating limitations<\/h2>\n<p>An alternative way to indicate time limits without using particles\u00a0<em>kara\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>made<\/em>, using the particle\u00a0<em>in<\/em>. That way, you can use dates or any other word that indicates a period of time, telling you when something happened.<\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Kanojo wa ni juu hassai of kekkonshita.\">\u5f7c\u5973\u306f\uff12\uff18\u6b73<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u7d50\u5a5a\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>She got married\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">with<\/span>\u00a0twenty eight years.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><acronym title=\"Kisha wa san juu leaves shinda.\">\u8a18\u8005\u306f\uff13\uff10\u6b73<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">\u3067<\/span>\u6b7b\u3093\u3060\u3002<\/acronym><\/p>\n<p><em>the reporter died\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600\">to the<\/span>\u00a0thirty years.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>The particle of \u2013 Price and composition<\/h2>\n<p>Another very common use case of the particle\u00a0<em>in\u00a0<\/em>is when we will say or ask the price of something.
